  • Protect students' right to protest!
In the past couple of weeks, we’ve witnessed the arrests and violence against students who are exercising their First Amendment right to protest against college and university support for the Israeli government’s assault on Gaza. The First Amendment protects freedom of speech and freedom of assembly—and for generations, students at campuses have protested and changed the course of history. The violence by police and academic administrators against peaceful protesters on campuses is shameful and wrong, and ensuring students have the literal and metaphorical space to make their opinions known is not a crime. Violence against students must end. Full stop.

  • Retry Harvey Weinstein NOW and hold him accountable!
Harvey Weinstein—the disgraced film producer who was convicted of rape in 2020—had his convictions shamefully overturned by the New York Court of Appeals. Nearly 100 courageous women came forward, reporting instances of sexual harassment, abuse, and assault by Weinstein. This decision is a blow to them and to sexual assault survivors everywhere. Sign the petition to the Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg and demand that he not make survivors wait for this injustice to be resolved. Demand he retry Harvey Weinstein immediately.

  • Help us keep our pigs
Our two small domestic pet pigs are at risk of being rehomed due to zoning laws. We live right on the line of Hancock and Henry County, where on our side of the road we can’t have “livestock” but across both streets that intersect our house, you can. We take very good care of our animals and love them like family. They are quiet and great companions. Our neighbors love visiting them and feeding them, and we have been unaware of anyone being unhappy with their presence. Our family would be heartbroken if they had to leave, especially when we live right on the edge of both streets where our immediate neighbors can own livestock legally.

  • Save San Diego's Recreational Swim Programs
In the budget recommendations released by Mayor Gloria for Fiscal Year 2025 (Volume 1), there is a recommendation to cut operating hours and funding for 5.5 full-time employees, essentially cutting recreational swim team and water polo programs in the non-summer months at all pools except for one that is contractually obligated to do so. We are unsure if this is a one-time cut for FY 2025 or will be ongoing. This can have significant drawbacks and there are several compelling reasons to advocate against this decision. Please sign this petition to save the year-round swim team and water polo programs offered by City of San Diego-operated public pools. Your voice is needed to advocate for a change in the proposed FY 2025 budget to add back in the staff and hours that are needed to operate a year-round recreational swim and water polo team program at City pools. We should be investing in these programs not taking them away.

We need a Vending Machine for many reasons: 1. We (the student body) have students with medical issues who need food. 2. We (the student body) are in this building for long periods of times and it would be beneficial to have food available. 3. We (the student body) are here until late in the night and it is sometimes not safe to leave the building to get food. 4. We (the student body) are hungry.

  • Empower Itasca County Residents to Direct Their Tax Dollars
I am a resident of Itasca County, Minnesota, and like many others in my community, I believe that we should have a say in how our tax dollars are being used. We work hard for our money and it's only fair that we get to choose what causes it supports. Our taxes are currently being allocated without our input, often towards issues that some of us may not believe in or support. It is important to note that public participation in budgeting processes can lead to more equitable outcomes. According to the National League of Cities (NLC), participatory budgeting - where residents have a say on spending - has been successfully implemented in various cities across the US leading to improved transparency and trust between citizens and government. Any events, that have been labeled as controversial, should not be allowed to use tax funded properties, services or entities. This petition is not about evading taxes; it's about ensuring they reflect our values as residents of Itasca County. By signing this petition, you're advocating for your right as an Itasca county resident to direct where your tax dollars go. Let's make sure our voices are heard! Please sign this petition today.

  • Make it Illegal to Target People with Photosensitive Content
There is an increase in cyber attacks and purposeful targeting of those who have seizures where there is absolutely no repercussions. This is potentially deadly and a hate crime on those who have seizures. The people who do this send threatening messages, alongside their flashing videos or GIFS and find it hilarious because social media has no warning and doesn’t find it to be “a violation of their guidelines.” Any other minority that attacked through social media is dealt with - you can’t even use certain words, but there is absolutely nothing done when it comes to the blatant intentional triggering of seizures and trying to harm those of us with epilepsy.
